Haircut…
The other day on a Zoom call, someone I hadn’t seen in a while said, “Susan, your hair is so long!” My first thought was, no, it’s not, but after the meeting, I looked in the mirror and realized—my hair is long! Clearly, I hadn’t noticed because I see myself every day.
That small comment had me reflect: what else in my life am I not seeing?
It’s a powerful reminder of how much I miss when I don’t take the time to step back. I didn’t feel like I was choosing NOT to get my haircut but not doing something is also a choice.
Whether it’s something as simple as the length of my hair, or something bigger—like, am I really showing up for the people in my life the way I want to?—looking at things with fresh eyes creates the space for more intentional decisions.
So yeah, I got my haircut…
